mclea:

The canola crop always brightens up an otherwise uneventful trip from Calgary to anywhere in Southern Alberta. A true Albertan staple. God bless.

Geoff:

Well if a field is going to dress like that, it's asking for it.

BJR:

I think the next logical step after inserting a Roundup resistance gene is to insert a gene that makes canola turn from bright yellow, to bright orange, to bright red, to pitch black. But Monsanto probably couldn't handle that much Awesome.

Lord Bob:

Once again, Mr. Cosh perpetuates the common prairie stereotype that not only are our provinces very very flat, they are also filled with crops. As a former Albertan, I am deeply offended by this.

Except to hear from the Alberta Human Rights Commission very shortly.

(Hell of a photo, though.)

I nominate Geoff's comment for a "crop-now-known-as-Canola-joke-I-wish-I'd-been-clever-enough-to-make-up" no-prize.

The good news is that for the first time ever, canola crops in Quebec are allowed to be yellow.

Half Canadian:

I second Ryan's nomination. Geoff, that was one heck of a joke.

And Mike's wasn't that bad either.

Joyce:

Holy sh*t! My shot isn't nearly this nice!!
Proof it pays to buy a good camera.

It's probably got more to do with the post-processing.

Sean:

Those fond of canola shots should check out this guy's work:
